2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. milk Sift flour once, measure, add cream of tartar, sugar, baking powder and salt. Sift into mixing bowl again. Cut in shortening until mixture looks like coarse meal. Add milk and stir with fork until soft dough is formed. Turn out on lightly floured board and knead. Pat dough 1/2 inch thick cut and bake on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 475 degrees for 10-12 minutes. |
