CHEESE-STUFFED FRANKFURTERS | |
12 frankfurters Prepared mustard and horseradish to make 3/4 c. 1/4 lb. Cheddar cheese 4 med.-sized dill pickles, each cut into thirds 12 strips bacon Toothpicks Broiling temperature: 500 degrees. Broiling time: 12 to 15 minutes. Serves 12. Cut each frankfurter lengthwise, on both sides (about 1/4 inch). Spread both inside cuts of each frankfurter generously with the mustard-horseradish mixture. Slice the cheese lengthwise into strips (1/2 inch). Cut each pickle into thirds, lengthwise. Put a slice of cheese in one slit and a piece of pickle in other slit of each frankfurter. Wrap a strip of bacon diagonally around each stuffed frankfurter and secure with toothpicks. Place on a rack in broiler pan and broil 3 to 4 inches from heat until bacon is crisp and cheese is melted. |
