BRANDIED FRUIT
Combine 1 cup fruit consisting of 1 small can sliced peaches, drained; 2 slices of pineapple, cut into pieces; 5 red maraschino cherries; and 1 cup sugar. Let sit 10 minutes, then stir. Cover and let sit for 2 weeks, stirring once or twice each week. Repeat this process each 2 weeks with 1 cup fruit, well drained and 1 cup sugar. Do not close decanter or jar tightly. (The jar should be clear glass and left in the light.) Do not put in the refrigerator. When jar is full, give a friend a cup for a starter.

Have friend add a cup of fruit and 1 cup sugar to the starter 7 days after receiving it, then wait 2 weeks before adding more on and on. Of course, also use out of this as you wish when the jar is filled. This fruit is delicious as is or over ice cream or pound cake and is very good in cakes and cookies.

This fruit is called by many different names like Everlasting Fruit, Friendship Fruit, etc. It truly is a friendship fruit as it is meant to be shared. Many people use some Brandy in the starter and you may add 2 tablespoons after the original 2 weeks if you desire.

THE FOLLOWING RECIPE IS MY FAVORITE - BUT I really like them all!
