5 c. flour 1 dry yeast 3 eggs, beaten 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. warm milk 1 c. butter Melt butter in warm milk, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Add beaten eggs to warm mixture. Mix into flour sugar mixture. Then mix together with small amount of flour until dough comes off hands and bowl. Refrigerate overnight or let rise 2 1/2 hours. NUT FILLING: 2 lbs. nuts (4 c. ground nuts) 1/2 c. milk 1 2/3 c sugar (more or less) 1/2 c. butter, melted 1 tsp. vanilla Divide mixture into 6 parts. Roll each part about the thickness of cardboard on back of tablet. Roll in mixture of flour and sugar. Spread with nut mixture. Roll up as tight as possible. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 325 degrees 25 to 35 minutes. Bake on wax paper over pan with seam side down on baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg when filled. Make air holes with fork before baking. |
