MARINATED COLE SLAW 
1 lg. head cabbage, sliced
1 sm. green pepper, sliced
1 sweet onion, slice in rings
Shredded carrots (optional)

DRESSING:

1 c. vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tbsp. mustard
2/3 c. salad oil
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar (or sweetener)

Mix first 5 ingredients of dressing. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and add salad oil. Heat again to boiling point. Remove from heat. Add sugar or sweetener. Cool dressing thoroughly before mixing with cabbage. Allow to marinate overnight. Stir occasionally. An old family favorite.
