BUCKEYES | |
1 lb. butter 2 lb. peanut butter, smooth 3 lb. powdered sugar 1/4 bar paraffin wax, shredded 1 bar Hershey chocolate (8 oz.) 2 bags chocolate chips (12 oz. each) Melt butter. Add peanut butter and sugar; mix well. Chill for a few minutes. Form into small balls, kneading each ball a little first. Chill. Melt paraffin wax and chocolate in double boiler - keep warm (or use microwave oven). Stick toothpick into the middle of each ball, but do not stick it all the way down. Dip balls into warm chocolate, leaving the tops uncovered. Chill. Should make up to 600 buckeyes. Note: Recipe can be halved. Sometimes I mix and make balls one day and dip the next. |
