1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. unsweetened applesauce
3 tbsp. sour cream
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. flour

Mix sugar and applesauce, cream and butter. Add eggs, then sifted dry ingredients. Chill dough. Roll 1/2 inch thick, cut and allow to dry slightly before frying in deep fat at 350 degrees, turning once.
