CHOCOLATE FUDGE 
2 sq. chocolate
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 stick (2 oz.) butter
1 c. white sugar
A little less than 1/4 c. white Karo syrup

Melt chocolate in pot very slowly. Add butter and other ingredients except nuts and vanilla. Cook over medium heat, stirring, for 13-14 minutes. Test in cool water. Ready when soft ball forms when small amount of mixture is drizzled into cool water and mashed together with fingers. If it doesn't hold together, cook longer.

When ready, remove from heat and beat for one minute. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into buttered 8x10 inch pan (about 1/2 inch thick). Cool and cut into squares.
