HAMBURGER AND BARLEY SOUP 
1 tbsp. oil
2 lb. ground round
16 oz. tomatoes
6 oz. tomato juice
7 c. water
1/2 lb. fresh green beans
1 c. diced green peppers
1 c. diced celery
1/2 c. celery greens
2 tbsp. lite soy
Salt and pepper
2 tsp. garlic
1 bay leaf, optional
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 c. pearl barley
2 carrots, chopped
1 potato, chopped

Brown meat in oil, put in soup pot. Add all ingredients up to carrots. Cook to boiling point; turn down to simmer 1 hour. Add carrots; cook for 20 minutes. Add potatoes; cook another 20 minutes.
