OLD FASHION TEA CAKES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. buttermilk
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 c. flour
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together, keeping dough as soft as possible. Roll out on a flour surface (should be 1/4 inch thick). Cut and place on greased cookie sheet and bake 5 to 7 minutes at 425 degrees.
