WILD RICE CASSEROLE 
Time to prepare: 30 minutes. Cooking time: 30 minutes. Oven temperature: 350 degrees. Servings: 10-12.

1 lb. pork sausage
1 lb. mushrooms
2 med. onions (1 c.)
1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cream or Half and Half
2 1/2 c. condensed chicken broth
1 tsp. MSG
Generous pinch of the following: oregano, thyme and marjoram
1/8 tsp. pepper
Salt to taste

1. Saute sausage meat. Drain on paper towels and break into small pieces.

2. Saute 1 pound sliced mushrooms and 2 medium onions, chopped (1 cup) in the sausage fat.

3. Meanwhile, cook 2 cups washed wild rice in boiling water (about 50 minutes); drain. (Cook until kernels burst open.)

4. Mix 1/4 cup flour with 1/2 cup cream until smooth. Add 2 1/2 cups chicken broth and cook over medium heat until thickened. Add seasonings.

5. Combine rice, sausages, and vegetables. Pour into casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, until casserole bubbles in middle.
