SOPAPILLAS (FRIED PUFFS) 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
3 tbsp. salad oil
1/2 c. water

Mix dry ingredients together well. Beat liquid ingredients and pour into the dry. Knead well. Dough may be sticky. Cover and let set for 20 minutes. Roll thinly on floured wax paper. Cut into 3 to 4 inch squares and fry in deep hot oil. Drain. Serve hot with honey. Makes 1 dozen. These little puffs are good eaten with honey and a dash of powdered sugar for dessert.
