COMPANY CASSEROLE | |
8 oz. pkg. med. noodles 1 1/2 lb. ground beef 2 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. salt, pepper to taste 1/4 tsp. garlic salt 8 oz. can tomato sauce 1 c. cottage cheese 1 c. dairy sour cream or yogurt 6 green onions (scallions), chopped 3/4 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese Cook noodles in boiling salted water as directed on box. Drain. Melt butter in skillet, add meat and cook, stirring until it loses its red color. Add salt, pepper, garlic salt and tomato sauce. Simmer gently uncovered 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, chopped onion (including some of the green part) and noodles. Alternate the noodle mixture and meat mixture in 2 quart greased casserole. Top with cheese. Bake uncovered 30 minutes at 450 degrees. Serves 6-8. Very good. |
