HOT TAMALES 
1 lb. ground beef
2 c. cornmeal
1 1/2 tsp. red pepper
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. cumin
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 c. melted shortening
1 1/4 c. milk

Combine all ingredients; mix well. Shape into 24 small rolls. Wrap each tightly in aluminum foil. Cook in boiling water for 20 minutes.
