REGGIE'S BEANS 
1 lb. dry beans (pinto, navy, kidney, Great Northern or limas)
2 c. chopped onion
3 pkgs. ham bouillon (beef or chicken will do)
1 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 tbsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper (black)
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 bay leaves

Wash and sort through beans. Soak overnight, discard water. Add all ingredients, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover and cook slowly for 2-3 hours, stirring often. Very good served with corn bread muffins or brown rice.
