PASHKA (A Russian Easter Dessert) | |
3/4 lb. cream cheese 1/4 lb. sweet butter 1/2 c. sour cream 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. chopped almonds 1/2 c. mixed diced candied peels 1 1/2 c. raisins (optional) 1 env. unflavored gelatin 1/4 c. cold water Mash cream cheese. Beat in butter, sour cream and sugar. Beat until well blended and creamy. Add almonds, candied peels and raisins. Soften gelatin in cold water. Dissolve over hot water. Add to cream cheese mixture and mix well. Turn into oiled 4 cup mold. Chill. When ready to serve, turn out on a serving plate. Decorate with glace or candied cherries arranged in the form of a cross. |
