EASY INDIAN FRY BREAD | |
4 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1 1/2 to 2 c. water 1 1/2 tsp. salt 4 tbsp. shortening Mix flour, salt, baking powder and shortening. Rub mixture with fingers until coarse crumbs form. Add water to make bread dough consistency. Knead until smooth. Let raise 10 minutes. Divide into approximately 12 portions. Pat out into 6 inch circles. Fry in hot oil (360) turning once. Good with honey, butter or jam. Can use with chili and cheese for a meal. |
