2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. shortening Add to the above: 2 egg yolks 1 tbsp. lemon juice 7 tbsp. cold water FILLING: 8 apples thinly sliced 1 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Mix pastry with fork. Divide dough in half. Roll pastry on lightly floured surface to fit a jelly roll pan. Mix together sugar, salt, flour and cinnamon. Toss over sliced apples. Roll other half of dough and place over apples. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes until light brown. Cool. Drizzle glaze over (powdered sugar and milk, added a few drops at a time). |
