MICROWAVE CARAMEL CORN | |
1 stick butter 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed 1/3 c. light corn syrup Pinch salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 4 qt. popped popcorn 1/2 c. nuts (optional) Place popcorn in large grocery bag. Combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil using full power. Boil 2 minutes at full power. Stir in baking soda. Pour syrup mixture into bag over popcorn. Close bag and shake vigorously. Return to oven for 1 1/2 minutes, microwaving at full power. Remove and shake vigorously. Return to oven for 1 1/2 minutes at full power. Remove and shake again. Return to oven for 1 minute. Remove and pour onto tray or cookie sheet to cool. Break apart when cool. Store in airtight container. |
