CHOCOLATE LAYER CAKE 
1 c. milk
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour
4 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cream the sugar and butter until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, then the flour and milk alternately. Beat until smooth and cook in a hot oven until done.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 stick butter
1/2 pt. whipping cream

Mix the cocoa and sugar in a dab of hot water. Add the butter and whipping cream. Let boil for 4 minutes. Pour on cake layers.
