MARGE'S MOM'S GINGER SNAPS | |
3/4 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 4 tbsp. molasses 1 egg 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg, beat well. Sift together dry ingredients and add to above. Refrigerate dough for several hours (or overnight). Roll dough into walnut-sized balls, roll in sugar. Flatten slightly with glass. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in preheated 350 degree oven. Yield: 3 dozen cookies. |
