COWBOY BEANS 
2 lbs. pinto beans
2 onions, chopped
4 tbsp. sugar
2 lbs. salt pork or ham hocks
2 green chilies or to taste
1 can tomato paste

Wash the beans and soak overnight. Drain and place in Dutch oven and cover with water. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until tender. Add salt to taste and water if needed.
