GRANNY'S POTATO CAKE 
2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1 c. Crisco (thick stuff)
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mashed potatoes (salted & buttered)
1 c. chocolate (Nestle's powder)
1 c. milk
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped walnuts
4 egg whites

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. water
3 tbsp. melted butter
2 tbsp. Nestle's Quik chocolate powder
1 pkg. or more powdered sugar

CAKE: Cream together the sugar, egg yolks, Crisco and vanilla. Mix mashed potatoes, milk and Nestle's chocolate together, then add to first mixture. Add flour, baking powder and nuts. Beat egg whites until thick and fold into mixture.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool. Empty one pan onto cake plate, frost top. Put next cake on top of first one, frost top. Put last cake on top and frost top and sides.

Grease well 3 cake pans and dust with flour.
