HOT SLAW 
1/2 head cabbage, shredded finely
1/4 c. cold water
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 c. milk
2 to 3 tbsp. vinegar

Combine finely shredded cabbage, water and butter in a saucepan; cover and steam over low flame for 15 to 20 minutes. Meanwhile, combine egg, sugar, flour, salt, pepper and milk. Add vinegar and stir well. Pour over cooked cabbage and cook, stirring until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and serve.
