BUTTERED APPLE RINGS 
2 apples
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. red hots cinnamon candies

Slice each apple in 4 rings after peeled, cut out core with paring knife, put butter in heavy saucepan. Heat until melted, then add water, sugar and red hots. Stir until dissolved. Add apple rings. Cover and cook very gently, turning occasionally. If it goes dry add a little more water, cook until tender. Good served with pork chops.
