ALMOND COOKIES | |
1 1/4 c. sugar 2/3 c. shortening 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 beaten eggs 2 tbsp. milk 1 tsp. almond extract 1/2 tsp. vanilla In mixing bowl, cream together sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Combine eggs, milk, almond extract, and vanilla. Add to creamed mixture alternately with flour mixture beating well after each addition. Cover and chill dough 1-2 hours or overnight. Roll dough on lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with floured cookie cutters into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. Makes about 3 dozen cookies. |
