GRANDMA JOHNSON'S VEGETABLE SOUP 
2 potatoes, peeled and diced
1/2 head cabbage
1 can butter beans
1 can red kidney beans
4 cans stewed tomatoes
2 whole onions
1/2 turnip, chopped
1 stalk celery
2 pkgs. frozen mixed vegetables
1/2 pkg. dry marrow beans
1-2 lg. shin bones
1/2 tsp. salt, pepper
Pinch of sugar

Put all ingredients in a large soup pot and cover completely with water. Cook slowly all day. Excellent the second day served with a nice bread.
