BEEF IN BEER 
1/2 lb. stewing steak
2 carrots
1 onion
2 oz. mushrooms
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp. tomato puree
8 fl. oz. beer
1 tbsp. flour
Salt and pepper

1. Season flour with salt and pepper.

2. Dice steak into 1 inch cubes and coat with flour.

3. Place 1 tablespoon oil in frying pan - sear meat until brown and place in casserole dish.

4. Chop onions, carrots and mushrooms.

5. Sweat vegetables in frying pan for 5 minutes (sweat means place in frying pan with small amount of oil and place lid on tightly).

6. Place vegetables in casserole.

7. Mix beer and tomato puree. Place over meat and vegetables.

8. Add bay leaf.

9. Place in oven at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
