UNFORGETTABLE COOKIES 
2 egg whites, beaten
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. chocolate bits, or flaked coconut, or crushed peppermint candy
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla or use a few drops of peppermint flavoring with the peppermint candy

Beat egg whites until fairly stiff. Add sugar a little at a time. Fold in rest of ingredients and drop by teaspoon onto a foil-covered cookie sheet. Heat oven to 375 degrees and put cookies in oven. Immediately turn oven off and leave them overnight. You can make these the last thing in the evening, and then you will have a real treat for your early birds!
