TURTLE BROWNIES 
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels or 1 (11 oz.) jar caramel or fudge topping
2/3 c. milk (if using caramels) or 1/3 c. milk if using topping
1 box German chocolate cake mix or reg. chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. softened butter
1 c. nuts
12 oz. chocolate chips

Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup milk and soft butter. Blend until mixture holds together. Stir in nuts. Press 1/2 of mixture into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove and sprinkle on chips, pour melted caramels (plus 1/3 cup milk) or topping evenly on top. Crumble remaining mixture over top and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool and serve.
