PICANTE SAUCE 
1 clove garlic
1 lg. onion
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
10-15 pods red pepper (or 2 tsp. crushed red pepper)
1 lg. can (28 oz.) whole tomatoes
1 sm. can chopped green chilies

Mince the garlic; dice onion and set half of it aside; place the garlic and the first half of the chopped onion into a blender along with the tomato sauce and the red pepper pods (or the pre-crushed stuff). Liquify in the blender. Pour into a 1 1/2 quart bowl. Crush the canned tomatoes by hand into "mush" and add them to the first mixture along with the last half of the onion and the can of green chilies. Stir by hand. Store in glass containers in the refrigerator.
