MUSHROOM BEEF AND GRAVY 
2 lbs. round steak, cut into thin pieces
2 c. mushrooms
1 sm. onion
2 pkgs. brown gravy mix
1 stick butter
Seasoned salt

Cook meat in 1/2 cup of shortening. Chop mushrooms, slice onions thin. Cook mushrooms and onions in butter. Drain shortening off meat.

Mix meat, mushrooms and onion with brown gravy mix and seasoned salt in a large pot. Add water and seasoned salt to your taste. Cook slowly 30 minutes. Serve with rice.

Cut this recipe in half because there's only two of us, and served it over mashed potatoes. Added pepper instead of seasoned salt. Fantastic!
