1 c. flour 1/3 c. water 1/4 c. salt Paper clips Paints - poster Clear nail polish Mix flour, salt and water in bowl with wooden spoon. When well mixed, press clay between fingers to get out any lumps. If dry and crumbly add a few drops of water. Add a bit of flour if too mushy. Store clay in refrigerator in plastic bag. Let clay warm to room temperature before using. On wax paper, roll out clay to 1/4 inch thick. Use cookie cutters or plastic knife to cut out shapes. While clay is still soft, poke a hole with a pencil or push a paper clip into back of each. Make sure top of clip sticks out above top of ornament. Let dry 2 to 3 days then decorate with poster paint. Brush on a coat of clear nail polish after paint is dry. |
