BANANA NUT CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 mashed bananas
1 c. nuts, chopped
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Dash salt
1/4 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Do not use mixer. Cream together 1/2 cup butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar. Add 2 eggs, 3 mashed bananas and 1 cup chopped nuts. Sift together 2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda and dash salt. Add alternately with flour mixture 1/4 cup buttermilk and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan, 30-40 minutes.

FROSTING:

Cream: 1/2 box powdered sugar (approx. 1 3/4 c.)

Add: 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Blend all ingredients together and frost cake while still warm.
