TERIYAKI 
1 1/2 lbs. beef, sliced thin or in cubes for kabobs
1 tsp. ground ginger
2 cloves garlic, mashed
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. soy sauce, tamari or teriyaki sauce
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
Ground pepper to taste

Place meat in a NON-metal bowl and pour the mixture of remaining ingredients over the meat, coating well. Allow meat to marinate in refrigerator 24 to 48 hours, turning occasionally. Place 4 inches from broiler or grill (preheated) for 12 to 15 minutes, turn, basting with reserved marinade.
