OATMEAL CARMELITAS (Bars) 
1 c. flour
1 c. oatmeal
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. melted butter
1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. caramel ice cream topping
3 tbsp. flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine in a large bowl the cup of flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, salt and melted butter; mix to form crumbs. Press 1/2 of crumbs into a 9 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle over the baked crust; the chocolate chips and chopped nuts.

Mix the caramel topping with 3 tablespoons flour and drizzle over chocolate and nuts. Now sprinkle remaining crumbs over caramel. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Chill bars for easy cutting.
