NEW ENGLAND SLAW 
1 lg. head cabbage or 2 med.
6 sm. onions, chopped
1 lg. green bell pepper, chopped

Set these 3 ingredients aside in large bowl.

3 c. sugar
3 c. apple cider vinegar
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Mix all these ingredients and put in saucepan, bring to a full boil. Remove from heat and pour over cabbage mixture. Store in refrigerator. Chill thoroughly. Slaw will be crisp and is good for a month.
