GERMAN SWEET SOUR BEANS 
1/2 med. onion, chopped
4 slices bacon, diced
1/2 c. sugar
2 cans green beans
1/2 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. cornstarch

Fry bacon; add onion and cook until tender. Add sugar and vinegar. Add drained beans; cook about 15 minutes. Add cornstarch to thicken. This is better if made one day before to let the flavor penetrate into the beans.
