MOTHER'S BEET PICKLES 
2 c. sugar
2 c. white vinegar
1/2 c. water
Few cloves
Few pickling spices
1 stick cinnamon for each jar

The above makes enough brine for about 3 1/2 pints. Cook beets until tender. Peel and cut to desired size. put cloves and pickling spices in a cloth bag. Mix all brine ingredients together and bring to a boil. Add cut beets and cook until beets are heated through. Put 1 stick cinnamon in each jar. Fill jars and seal.
