CRISPY SWEET PICKLES 
25 - 30 med. cucumbers
8 lbs. white or yellow onions
2 lg. sweet green peppers
1/2 c. salt
5 c. vinegar
5 c. sugar or 2 1/2 lbs.
2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. ground whole cloves
Some garlic and dill

Wash and slice very thin chopped onion and pepper. Combine cucumbers and salt, let stand 3 hours then drain. Vinegar, sugar, spices in large pot and boil. Add the drained cucumbers. Heat real well but do not boil. Pack in hot jars 1/2" from top jar. Put in pint jars. Boil in canner for 5 minutes. 14 pints.
