1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
6 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chocolate chips

Prepare cake mix per package directions. Pour 1/2 batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 minutes. Melt caramels, butter and milk. Stir in nuts. Pour over cake, sprinkle with chocolate chips, and pour remaining batter over all. Bake for 20 minutes longer. Cool completely before cutting.
