1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. applesauce
1-1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients. Use a 13 x 9-inch pan, greased and floured. Sprinkle top with 2 tablespoons sugar, 1-1/2 cups chopped nuts and one 6 ounce package of chocolate chips. Bake at 375°F for 30 to 40 minutes.
