DIVINITY CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. cold water
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla

Place sugar, syrup and water over low heat. Stir only until sugar is dissolved. Cook to soft ball stage. Beat egg whites until stiff. Continue beating and pour 1/2 syrup over egg whites. Continue beating while cooking rest of syrup until it cracks.

When a few drops crackles when put into a cup of cold water, add this to syrup and egg mixture. Add vanilla. Beat until candy is thick enough to drop from spoon on wax paper. Add nuts if desired.
