PRIZE-WINNING BANANA CAKE | |
2 c. sifted cake flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. shortening 2 eggs, well beaten 3/4 c. buttermilk 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. mashed bananas (3 med.) 1 tsp. vanilla 1. Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. 2. Cream shortening, gradually add sugar and continue creaming. 3. Add beaten eggs and bananas. Mix well. 4. Add flour mixture alternately with combined buttermilk and vanilla, beginning and ending with flour. 5. Pour into two 8 inch layer pans which have been greased, lined with paper and greased gain. 6. Bake at 375 degrees F. about 25 to 30 minutes. |
