Thank goodness I came across this. I bought evaporated milk and not sweetened condensed milk. I thought I was out of luck since its the day before Thanksgiving. This saved my pies!

Just what I was looking for! A Dairy-free substitute for sweetened condensed milk. Now I can make recipes that were off limits for our family. We have milk protein allergies.

YAY! I was going to have a very unhappy son if we didn't have the traditional caramel popcorn for the fireworks. Thanks to this website... I am STILL "the best Mom ever."

Amazing substitute! I didn't have this milk and needed it for a chocolate fudge recipe, it turned out fantastically thanks to this sub.

FYI - I didn't figure it out until I was measuring it that this makes ONE CUP but worked still perfectly for doubling.

Hi there... I am trying to use this in the chocolate, graham cracker, coconut cookie bars and it calls for a 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk... does the above recipe make the equivalent of a 14 oz can or should I double it?? Thanks for the help

 Cori (Colorado) replies:
Fabulous! Equivalent to 14 oz. can - maybe little more. Warning- do not overmix in a mixer - makes eggs/vanilla frothy & therefore 'grows/foams' like marshmallow in recipe vs sinking in like reg sweetened condensed milk.

This was a lifesaver! I was homesick and decided to make our traditional Cassava cake and realized that I had no condensed milk for the topping! We're in a midst of a snowstorm a day after Christmas here in NYC and the finished bibingka cassava brought me a little piece of Christmas from home. Thank you for this wonderful recipe!

I made a pumpkin pie using this substitute for sweetened condensed milk and was pleasantly surprised that it worked!! The texture of my pie was altered a bit, but not in a bad way. The taste was excellent.

I was skeptical... but this worked great for a microwave fudge recipe! Now I can't stop eating the fudge tho...

Agreed! It is Christmas Eve and the last place I want to go when making fudge at 5AM is the grocery store in the freezing cold and snow! Every other recipe calls for dried milk... hello, if I am out of condensed milk I am probably out of dried milk! Ha! AWESOME!

I was in the middle of making some macaroons and realized I didn't have any condensed milk. I tried this recipe, and I think these are the best macaroons I've ever had!! Thanks so much for sharing!

I used this to make a fudge sauce for chocolate covered cherry cookies. I was not expecting much, having forgotten to buy sweetened condensed milk for the recipe. I was pleasantly surprised! Came out perfect!

Totally delicious used in Lemon Slice, will use always as a healthier alternative to Condensed Milk. I agree it's better than the real thing. Thanks so much for this wonderful tip.
