CHRISTMAS BREAD | |
2 c. scalded milk 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cardamom (powder) 2 cakes yeast 1/4 c. warm water 2 beaten eggs 4 c. flour 1/2 pkg. fruit Scald milk with sugar, shortening and salt. Cool. Add yeast and cardamom. Add eggs and flour (2 cups at a time). Mix well. Add fruit and flour to knead. Raise to double bulk. Knead down. Form into two round loaves. Raise double bulk. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. |
