STREUSELED APPLES
6 c. sliced unpeeled apples (about 6)
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. whole wheat flour
1/3 c. quick-cooking oats, uncooked
1/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Toss sliced apples with 1/3 cup brown sugar in a 2 quart round casserole. To make streusel topping, use food processor or pastry blender. Combine flour, oats, 1/3 cup brown sugar, butter and cinnamon and mix until crumbly. Add nuts and sprinkle over top of apples. Do not cover. Microwave on high 8-10 minutes, rotating midway through cooking. Let stand a few minutes before serving. Spoon into dessert dished and top with ice cream or dessert topping. Serves 6-8.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
