SUGAR PLUM CAKE 
1 (1 lb.) can whole purple plums
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash salt
1/3 c. butter at room temp.
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk

Heat oven 350. Drain plums, remove pits and halve; set aside.

Mix 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon. Stir in 1 tablespoons butter; set aside.

In large bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt. Add remaining 3/4 cup sugar and the 1/3 cup butter, egg and vanilla and milk. Blend about 3 1/2 minutes.

Turn into greased long cake pan. Dot with plums and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Top with Cool Whip.
