NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER 
1/4 lb. salt pork or bacon, diced
2 med. onions, sliced
3 doz. hard shell clams, shucked with liquid reserved
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
3 lg. potatoes, sliced (3 c.)
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. celery salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 c. Half & Half
1 tbsp. butter

Cook diced bacon until lightly brown. Add onions, cook 5 minutes. Add water to clam liquid to make 2 cups. Add flour to onion mixture and add clam mixture until thickened. Add potatoes, salt, celery, pepper and cover and cook until potatoes are tender. Add chopped clams, milk, butter and heat through.
