TAMMY'S SURPRIZE | |
Some of the recipes in this cookbook are geared to the lifestyles of the busy working mother. Mrs. Hauke, a PTO officer is one such mother and she often uses this quick and easy recipe in the summer when work and baseball schedules rush meals. 2 slices bread 1 slice bologna Preferred condiments Amazingly simple, but with an assortment of condiments, the variety can be breathtaking. For more formal occasions, such as when guests dine in, Mrs. Hauke reminds us that instead of just putting the two-litter bottle of pop where everyone can reach it, it is much more refined, and sanitary, to serve drinks in individual glasses. And for a truly elegant touch, put the sandwich on a clean paper towel and garnish it with parsley. If you find you've run out of parsley in warm weather, Mrs. Hauke suggests that most houses have ragweed growing close by. The very top of the plant closely resembles parsley, so that most people won't notice the difference. People with allergies may notice, but if they have allergies they probably don't have much of an appetite anyway. |
